Question:
There is. Suffering is the whole point. If God dropped from the sky right now and asked who loved him, who would say no? Nobody ofcourse. Men lie, but their true nature is revealed when the suffer greatly.
Suffering is the whole point? Who taught you that bit of sillyness? As far as who would gainsay god’s love … I would. I won’t love someone just because *it* drops out of the sky and threaten punishment if I don’t love *it*. Once *it* dropped from the sky *it* would have to do things that would endear me to *it*. If all *it* had to offer was pain and suffering to ‘test’ me, well, fuck *it*! Wear your pain like an award.
Why? von
Response:
A lot of people object that God exists, but they do not object about Satan existence. Why? Are they Satanic? …

I don’t think God will make threats, but he will tell you what will happen based upon the choices you make. if I don’t love *it*. Once *it* dropped from the sky *it* would have to do things that would endear me to *it*.
What if God came down and then, you were shown things that made the whole human experience clear. The good and the bad. And what if, at that point, you realized you were angry at the wrong people, for the wrong reasons? Would you then ask for understanding and forgiveness? If all *it* had to offer was pain and suffering to ‘test’ me, well, fuck *it*!
If I told you I would give you a million dollars if you walked through fire, you would probably do it. If by some chance you really could receive eternal life and happiness for your suffering on Earth, wouldn’t that be worth it? Wear your pain like an award. Why?
Because, to God we are heroes. We are fighting a war that he want’s us to win, so bad. God knows how many of us won’t make it and the ones who do are even the more special and treasured. This in NOT easy. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -von

What God allows such brutality and suffering. Hmph. I find the world I live in to be quite sufficient for my liking. There’s an awful lot of beauty to balance the ugliness. There are a lot of extremely interesting things to do in this life. Me, I can’t think of a more ideal place to live. I certainly would have no use for a world where an omnipotent being was in charge, making all the decisions for everyone and leaving no opportunity for a real life. Of course you also live in a prosperous nation, and probably have a rather comfortable life. Before you get too complacent, take a tour of the nearest insane asylum. Or visit a country that is ravaged by poverty, disease, overpopulation, starvation, etc. Or you can stay at home and read Shakespeare, go to the movies, visit an art gallery, and believe all is well. Did I say "all is well"? No. I refuse to feel guilty because random chance started my life out in a "prosperous nation." I’m not aware of any "prosperous nation" on this planet where the evils of this world aren’t also readily available for one’s life to descend into them. That surely isn’t the case where I live. When I say there are interesting things to do, I don’t mean only doing things "wealthy" people do. Where you got the idea I live to entertain myself, I’m not sure. I mean also doing what I can to educate and help others, to work against the ugliness that abounds. I’ve ridden on all the guilt trips I plan to for this life. So you can take your ticket for this one and stuff it.
Childish petulance? I always thought you were above that, Nemo. I never intended to put you on a guilt trip, I was merely observing that your complacency is a result of your condition in life. Nope. If you believe that god created man to suffer,
This is extrapolating it too far. Man is created to live. Suffering is a part of life, but so is enjoyment. Susan – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – there’s no other point worth making. Strawman argument. God granted us free will. Thus he basically is letting us carry on on our own in the world. One of the negative consequences of this is that bad things do happen to good people sometimes. —- "I have cancer so you’re not allowed to disagree with me." – Pete Panaro.

But the god does not have to wait to see how people endure suffering in order to know their nature, does it? It’s supposedly omniscient. As such it already KNOWS everyone’s nature better than they do. So, since the god already knows every man’s nature, what purpose does suffering serve? Wear your pain like an award.
The god already knows your pain and your nature, you don’t have to rub it in it’s face. Comrade, sum thoughts. The whole idea that God is something outside reality.. watching through his telescope, at best whispering some hard to decipher messages into the ears of some prophets.."sending his son".. it makes God an "omni-nonpresent" God. A totally-nowhere nothing and less than Zillity. This relious concept of God – found in Judaism, Christianity and Islam is, or perhaps became, the greatest act of exorcism in human history. Perhaps when religion has gone.. God is back. Amen
