Question:

Ok… I _know_ that these accusations are in some cases true. It happens in any organization. My question…. my own mother had made a comment in favor of allowing priests to marry in order to "alleviate all the homosexuality and molestation of children that priests constantly engage in." Her "proof" of this was that she sees it on teh news… (amazing how TV = reality for so many ppl isn’t it?) Anyway, anyone know of any GOOD sources of information to contradict this b.s. claim by the media (and my mother) that all priests are sex crazed lunatics?

Just ask your mother if the only reason your father was not a homosexual and pedophile was because he had sex with her. Of course she will say that had nothing to do with it. You then proved your point. Homosexuals and pedophiles are just that. Homosexuals and pedophiles. That’s what they like. Access to women or being married has nothing to do with it. Peace, Bruce

Thats correct. Homosexuals prefer sex with members of their own sex. Pedophiles enjoy sex with children, regardless of the childs gender. Peace, Bruce

Laugh all you want, but it is true. And you are right about not being able to subpoena documetns from another country. I believe it was subpoenaed from the Catholic Conference of US Bishops or whatever they are called.

Oh and another thing…the Pope just the other day issued a 40 page document about the media. Here’s the first line from the news article: Vatican Urges Honesty With Media .c The Associated Press VATICAN CITY (AP) – Church officials must be honest with the media although they do have solid reasons to practice secrecy at times, the Vatican said Tuesday.

Which means that those who prefer sex with children of the same sex as them are homosexuals. For example, a priest who sexually molests an altar boy would be a homosexual. But the "news" media today has so many homosexuals and homosexual lobbyists among its ranks today than whenever one reads a "news" story about a priest sexually molesting an altar boy one NEVER reads that the priest is a "homosexual", because the "news" media is trying to make everyone think that homosexuals are "good people" and are not sinners and are just like everybody else and are "born that way" and "can’t help it" and are "normal" and that anybody who doesn’t agree with the "news" media about that must themselves be "homophobes". It’s all a crock, put forth by the homosexual lobby. Homosexual behavior is sin. Christianity says so. Judaism says so. Islam says so. And priests who sexually molest altar boys are homosexuals. 9volts, yes.. check the prisons. There are many persons in prison for child molestation and there’s quite a cross section… few are those of the cloth. But let’s take another tact. Lately, there have been several reports of child molestations which have been committed by teachers. So, based on these reports, all teachers are child molestors? Because some child molestors are homosexual, then all homosexuals are child molestors? The fact is, evil people infiltrate every group, is sad, and it is ugly. But the Catholic Church is NOT alone in this. I do not defend anyone who molests a child. And support the full prosecution under our laws. Period. Paula

Hmmm.. good question…. I did ask my husband.. he had 12 years of Catholic Education.. no molestation. Asked my Kids… 3 kids.. various ages.. no molestation. I’ve never been molested by a priest as a child and I grew up in a *mission church* so we had had several priests. We’ve all stated one story of a positive impact on our lives a priest has made…. Simply ask anyone who has gone through the Catholic educational system or who has been an altar boy/girl, etc., if they were ever sexually molested by a priest. Then ask them if the priest had any positive impact on their life. Hmmm.. good question…. I did ask my husband.. he had 12 years of Catholic Education.. no molestation. Lo expede, my friend. =) I have to agree with the Pope on this…. If I were him, I wouldn’t say ANYTHING to a reporter. Ever. You can say, "I love God," to a reporter and it will be twisted around somehow when they report. I wouldn’t trust them [media] with anything. They twist their presentation of facts to the public all the time. For instance, my mother thinking that all priests were molesting altar boys…. That’s a prodcut of the media….. and b.s.

They’ll get their money (after the attorneys take their lot) Now.. ask the boys here who were molested by teachers, friends, relatives, and the local new reporter… how much money are they going to recieve? Talk to a few fathers who have been falsely accused of sexual molestation because of an irate x-wife.. how do they feel?

I agree with you on the media twisting things but that wasn’t the Pope’s point. His point was that the Church needs to keep secrets and hide things from the faithful. For instance, my mother thinking that all priests were molesting altar boys…. That’s a prodcut of the media….. and b.s.

The issue is not a witch hunt against priest molesters. It becomes sensational news only because of the hypocrisy involved.

*nod* yer right. All a shame. As far as the church keeping secrets…. well…. sometimes it’s not a bad idea… the whole release about secrets was b/c of the 3rd secret dealing with the assasination attempt (maybe?) of the Pope. However, often I think secrets are a bad idea. But there are times that it’s a good idea to keep secrets.

When a priest or lay brother molests a child it is headline news. When a boy scout leader or sports coach molests a child it is on page 24. I think this shows an agenda somewhere or other. Or am I being paranoid? BTW I know plenty of people molested by adults in positions of trust but I don’t know a single person molested by a priest.
