Scriptural Authority For This Chapel              "This is my commandment, That ye love one another,               as I have loved you." (John 15:12 KJV)    This chapel allows me the opportunity to love you the best way I know    how, by sharing the Lord with you in worship. Invocation – Inviting the Lord To Be With Us Openly               "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there                am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20 KJV)    Let’s pray together now, to welcome the Lord to join us openly as we    worship Him.                 O Lord, we pray that You will join us now,                 As we have come together in Your name.                 Please let us know that You are really here,                 And help us to be pleasing in Your sight.                 In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen. The Lord’s Prayer    The Lord, Himself, taught us to pray like this . . .                      The Lord’s Prayer           Our Father, who art in heaven,             hallowed be thy Name,             thy kingdom come,             thy will be done,               on earth as it is in heaven.           Give us this day our daily bread.           And forgive us our trespasses,             as we forgive those who trespass against us.           And lead us not into temptation,             but deliver us from evil.           For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,             for ever and ever. Amen.                       Source: Book Of Common Prayer, based on                               Matthew 6:9-13                        *             *           *          "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father           will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their           trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."           (Matthew 6:14-15 KJV)                        *             *           * Worship Poem    Today’s worship poem is "Holy, Holy, Holy!," by Reginald Heber.    The music for this poem is the hymn tune NICAEA, by John B. HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! – by Bishop Reginald Heber, 1827 – Public Domain         Holy, holy, holy!         Lord God Almighty!         Early in the morning         Our song shall rise to Thee!         Holy, holy holy!         Merciful and mighty!         God in Three Persons,         Blessed Trinity!         Holy, holy, holy!         All the saints adore Thee!         Casting down their golden crowns         Around the glassy sea;         Cherubim and seraphim         Falling down before Thee,         Who wert, and art, and         Evermore shalt be.         Holy, holy, holy!         Though the darkness hide Thee!         Though the eye of sinful man         Thy glory may not see;         Only Thou art holy!         There is none beside Thee,         Perfect in pow’r in         Love, and purity.         Holy, holy, holy!         Lord God Almighty!         All Thy works shall praise Thy name,         In earth, and sky, and sea;         Holy, holy holy!         Merciful and mighty!         God in Three Persons,         Blessed Trinity!               Amen.                     *            *           * To A Christian, Nothing Is Unclean Of Itself    Old Testment law went into great detail about clean and unclean    things. For instance, many animals were declared unclean and could not    be eaten. Also, all people who were not Jews were considered unclean,    and Jews were forbidden to associate with them.    But God has now abolished these laws of cleanliness and uncleanliness,    as revealed in the vision He gave to Peter.              ACTS 10:9-16 (KJV)                             The Vision Of Peter              9                     On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and                     drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the                     housetop to pray about the sixth hour:              10                     And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but                     while they made ready, he fell into a trance,              11                     And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel                     descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet                     knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:              12                     Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the                     earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and                     fowls of the air.              13                     And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and                     eat.              14                     But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten                     any thing that is common or unclean.              15                     And the voice spake unto him again the second time,                     What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.              16                     This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up                     again into heaven.                         *           *          *    The Apostle Paul confirms this idea, saying that there is "nothing    unclean of itself."    ROMANS 14:12-23 (KJV)    12           So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.    13           Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this           rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall           in his brother’s way.    14           I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is           nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing           to be unclean, to him it is unclean.    15           But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou           not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ           died.    16           Let not then your good be evil spoken of:    17           For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but           righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.    18           For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to           God, and approved of men.    19           Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace,           and things wherewith one may edify another.    20           For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are           pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.    21           It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any           thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made           weak.    22           Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he           that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.    23           And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not           of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
