Christianity QA » Christian God » The "Christian" God Ridiculous?
Question:
The poet proceeds with "respectful step." "I wish to love God, I seek in him my father"; but what kind of God does the Christian theology offer? "A tyrant whom we should hate. He created men in ‘his own image,’ only to make them vile; No, man choose a vile heart over a good one when he choose to sin. God gave man choice, and warned that if he didn’t use it properly he would be punished.
"do to others as you would have them do to do" can you see that the converse, of sorts, is viewed as a "punishment" by some? "expect others to treat you as you have treated them" and so, if you steal from anyone, can you see how this is asking to be stolen from? and also, it says somewhere, something to the effect; the recompense[for the converse] for some is saved up and they’ll get it all at once, whereas, for the child of God, recompense[for the converse] is swift. so, while it may seem that people "get away with murder" you don’t really get away with anything. it’s not like God is sitting in a chair looking for opportunities to rub peoples’ faces in the mud. etc.

"A tyrant whom we should hate. He created men in ‘his own image,’ only to make them vile; he gave us sinful hearts to have the right to punish us; he made us love pleasure, so that he might torment us with frightful pains… eternal." He had hardly given us birth when he thought of destroying us. He ordered the water to engulf the earth. He sent his son to atone for our sins; Christ died, but apparently in vain, for we are told that we are still stained with the crime of Adam and Eve; and the Son of God, so acclaimed for mercy, is represented as waiting vengefully to plunge most of us into hell, including all those countless people who never heard of him. "I do not recognize in this disgraceful picture the God whom I must adore; I should dishonor him by such insult and homage."Christ never makes us do anything we don’t want to do.What you have stated here is not the real God of the bible.I beleive with my whole heart that when you study the whole bible that (when I say you I mean any one) you can under stand the Grace of God.God never made usdo anything it is only with our free will we do it.Any other way would make us nothing but robots.And how can a robot love anything.If you truely understood the love God has for us that even his wrath would be apart of His love for mankind.I beleive that the reason God wyped out cities and did what he did was forour benifet.What would have happened if sodom and gammora had existed and God never wiped them out chances are that mankind would have died because of disease and so on.You must read the whole bible not just interpit it out of context.And not just context of the chapter but also context of the rest of the bible.

No, man choose a vile heart over a good one when he choose to sin. God gave man choice, and warned that if he didn’t use it properly he would be punished. he gave us sinful hearts to have the right to punish us;
Wrong again. We introduced sin into our hearts. he made us love pleasure, so that he might torment us with frightful pains… eternal."
Wrong again. Pleasure in and of itself is not wrong. When we use pleasure sinfully it is wrong. Again, it comes to a matter of choice. He had hardly given us birth when he thought of destroying us. He ordered the water to engulf the earth.
God wanted to extend the Divine family with children. After creating these children, and giving them every thing they could want or need, they rebelled against His purpose for them. He had to punish sin in order to give men who sought restoration a chance to survive. He sent his son to atone for our sins; Christ died, but apparently in vain, for we are told that we are still stained with the crime of Adam and Eve;
The Bible never says we carry guilt because of their sin. Guilt comes from our own sins. Their sins did have negative consequences on their offspring (sin and its consequences were introduced into our environoment). These will be removed in the final day. In the mean time, Christ died so we could deal with the guilt problem today. and the Son of God, so acclaimed for mercy, is represented as waiting vengefully to plunge most of us into hell,
Christ is delaying His return specifically to give all of us the opportunity to seek reconciliation. He does not desire for any to perish, but for ALL to come to repentance. including all those countless people who never heard of him.
Romans 1:18ff teaches that all men are able to know God through nature, and are thus responsible to Him. All who are saved will be saved through Christ. All who have an opportunity to hear the gospel, will be saved through it if they respond through faith. As to those who never have an opportunity to hear, they are in the hands of a just God. NO WHERE in the Bible does it teach that those who don’t have access to the scriptures will be lost for that reason. "I do not recognize in this disgraceful picture the God whom I must adore; I should dishonor him by such insult and homage."
You’re not looking at the Bible picture. You’re looking at a picture painted by those who hold false conceptions concerning the Bible. Jack H. And that is the eternal life which was before all worlds, and will be after all are passed away
