I’ll try to answer your post more fully later. For now… Can I suggest that instead of the 10 Commandments you start with Matthew Chs. 5 – 7. In fact, I wouldn’t bother with anything in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) for the moment. The version of the Bible you use isn’t important at the moment; use which ever one ‘feels’ best. I like the New International Version. Don’t worry about everyone else’s view on God, the Bible, what ever. The Christian God is interested in a personal relationship with you, as you are.
