– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Can anyone estimate how many people were murdered in cold blood by the monstrous Christian God? I have heard estimates that range beyond 350,000 but this seems extremely conservative if we take into account the greatest mass genocide in history -The Flood of Noah. Here, the hideous and bestial God of Christianity killed virtually every human being on Earth, including almost every other living thing. I don’t know the world population at the time but it must have been in the hundreds of millions. Innocent men, women and children as well as sinless animals, all drowned in a horrendous deluge perpetrated by the monster that modern Christians still worship. This death-dealing ogre makes Hitler look like a purse-snatcher! Now, what was that thing about forgiveness and love? — – "Today, the theory of evolution is an accepted fact for everyone but a fundamentalist minority, whose objections are based not on reasoning but on doctrinaire adherence to religious principles." How ’bout the "myth" of you existing out of nothing, a person from a mere seed? and the "myth" of modern science, travelling to the moon, communicating through air waves, scientific and genetic manipulations, etc.? Miracles are not so surprising, just not what we’re used to thinking about… Randy

Devout xians? Probably not. A lot of the people hit were Maya villagers, who have this troubling (to the church at least) tendency to just add Jesus to their pantheon of Maya gods to be venerated. The RCC *claims* all the South and Central American Indians as their own, whereas in reality, they largely still follow native religions with a Christian veneer. And good for them. Worship the white man’s god to keep the white man happy, and worship the old gods when he’s gone. The Flood of Noah (as you refer to it) also indicates that God’s heart was grieved. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Actually some of the most vociferous of us arguers with God are those of faith. Many of us have the attitude that since God is our Father, we’re entitled to ask him a strong question or two about not only what we see in the Bible, but what we see every day around us. Just this morning I saw a beautiful fox lying dead on the highway and pretty much cussed God out for among other things: the atrocities he allows humanity to perpetuate like hazerdous vehicles & pollution. Then I went beyond dissing God for humanity’s misdeed and started in on the larger universal evils like death, death, and oh did I say DEATH? now you notice here I’m not arguing with you I’m questioning God himself, in all boldness within the context of a heated relationship with him that involves my mind as well as my sentiments. In the Bible also you see people of faith "getting in God’s face" big time and God heard them out. I know it’s kind of silly to beg a person to be mad at God rather than to be mad at people (Christians), but In my life it’s been much more constructive to be mad at God because when I am and when I get in his face, insight often comes to me far above and beyond anything I could hear from a human being, as great as I truly believe human beings are. But if this had been an ugly opossum you wouldn’t have been all that angry at god. Right? Or what about a beetle smashed on the windshield? That wouldn’t have earned your wrath either. Right? And, speaking of pollution, what about the seals that have taken over some California beaches. There feces has so polluted the beach and the water that it is dangerous to human health to swim there. Is there pollution not too bad? It seems to me from what you have written that you think a lot about things but you do so without much depth. Perhaps you should try reading things rather than arguing with god from ignorance. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Then I went beyond dissing God for humanity’s misdeed and started in on the larger universal evils like death, death, and oh did I say DEATH? now you notice here I’m not arguing with you I’m questioning God himself, in all boldness within the context of a heated relationship with him that involves my mind as well as my sentiments.
