Christianity QA » Christian Faith » What Would Jesus Shoot

Question:

Are you trying to say Gene is a sinner? Are you trying to suggest that he is not?

Gene is not a common sinner, no.

Response:

Are you trying to say Gene is a sinner? Are you trying to suggest that he is not? Gene is not a common sinner, no.

What is he then, a gold-plated sinner? Charles Hohenstein "If there were any word of God beside the Scripture, we could never be certain of God’s Word; and if we be uncertain of God’s Word, the devil might bring in among us a new word, a new doctrine, a new faith, a new church, a new god, yea himself to be a god. If the Church and the Christian faith did not stay itself upon the Word of God certain, as upon a sure and strong foundation, no man could know whether he had a right faith, and whether he were in the true Church of Christ, or in the synagogue of Satan."– Archbishop Thomas Cranmer

Response:

You might try reading ahead to the New Testament to see how Jesus spoke and acted – I don’t recall any part about where he took out his AK-47 to smite down all the sinners.  Had He done so, we wouldn’t be here today.  He was about love and forgiveness and convincing the sinners to repent and change their ways.

Response:

Hi Jim, We’re all sinners, yes, even Canon Robinson.  (I know I sure as heck am.). I’m not saying that he is a sinner because he is homosexual ( I firmly believe that the mere fact that one is homosexual is NOT a sin – one cannot help their orientation).  I am also not saying he is a sinner because he’s a practicing homosexual.  I do not know whether that is a sin or not, nor do I know how he is ‘practicing’.  Fortunately, The Lord has relieved me of the awsome responsibility of having to know. (Judge not, lest yea be judged… He who is without sin, cast the first stone…).  However, I have no doubt that Gene is a sinner, just like all the other bishops (and for that matter, the Pope).  …oops, there I go judging again, sorry.  ..

" Robinson, Bennison, Ingham and Spong, for openers. Did you really think that this would be a difficult question? :

What Bible have you been reading?!?!

My guess is that it would just be the Nikon.

Heavens no. We all know that Jesus is an Anglican, and would use a good English view camera. The Bible where Elijah took the prophets of Baal out and slaughtered them, after they could not call down fire from heaven. Those were the days. :) Charles Hohenstein "If there were any word of God beside the Scripture, we could never be certain of God’s Word; and if we be uncertain of God’s Word, the devil might bring in among us a new word, a new doctrine, a new faith, a new church, a new god, yea himself to be a god. Are you suggesting that Gene be taken out and slaughtered?

LOL!  Sorry, I lost my head!  ;-) The REAL question is:  "Would it be digital, or film"?  What f-stop would be used?

My son and I had Sunday Dinner at Hooters last weekend — don’t look so shocked.  Don’t you eat Three Mile Island Wings for Sunday Dinner? Anyway after we finished and paid Rachel, we stepped over to Buck ‘n’ Bass to see what new toys they had out. And there we saw it, the perfect gift for the Episcopalian hunter:  A T-shirt with the biblical text that REQUIRES us to hunt.  It clips the text down, without misquoting or distorting the intent of the original, to Arise … Kill … Eat.  Act 10:13 So, OK, technically it’s Peter who’s being told to kill and eat unclean animals, but we’ve got people on this NG hanging their hats on smaller pegs.  I say it enjoins all of us to participate in hunting. So now I get to wondering "What Would Jesus Shoot?"  I’m guessing a nice stainless steel Weatherby in big bore, and a Nikon scope on top with a mil-dot reticle for long-distance shooting. Anybody else have an idea? —  From all sedicion and pryvie conspiracie, from the tyrannye of the Bysshop of Rome,      and al hys detestable enormities, from al false doctryne and heresy, from hardnes of hearte,      and contempte of thy worde and commaundement. And you would certainly be on the list.

Charles, even your purported "humor" belies the evil at the heart of "conservatism".
