Question:
My Dear Fellowmen, Who set the birth of Jesus to be in 1 BC? Was it Dionysius Exiguus? He lived in c. 500 AD, didn’t he? This is more than 500 years from the supposed birth. How sure was he that he was correct? It seems that history was reckoned from or tied to his works. Hence, the supposed birth of Jesus in 1 BC became the reference point. Pontius Pilate, Herod, Cyrenius, the Romans’ destruction of Jerusalem, the reigns of Roman emperors, the Jewish history, the Babylonians, the Greeks, etc. had been said to be such and such number of years from the 1 BC birth. I would say that it was close enough but not quite. It was just 33 years off. I have mentioned before that 1 BC is not the supposed birth of Jesus but His crucifixion. His birth was in 34 BC. This is after I proved that the August 17, 1 BC crucifixion date the Holy Spirit revealed is correct. I also found out that Jesus was even crucified on a Thursday and not on a Friday or on a Wednesday as some argue. I believe we have to question the correctness of the 1 BC calculation of Dionysius Exiguus. Our history had been affected by such works done hundreds of years after the supposed event. We have to do a re-examination in the light of new revelations. We may have to rewrite our history books. The peace of the true God be with us now and forever.
