Yeah, Hal Lindsey told us all about it in 1970, in *The Late Great Planet Earth,* when the Soviet Union was *Gog* and we’d all be raptured off the earth before the world powers rained nuclear warheads on on one another and ecological disasters right out of *The Population Bomb* killed billions of people.  We ate it right up and expected the world to come to an end at any time.  Well, guess what, we’re still here, the Soviet Union is long gone, the Baby Boomers who were duped into believing his world-is-coming-to-an-end palaver threw all his books away, and now the Gen-Xers and their kids are falling for it, only now there’s a new Gog and a new Antichrist to point accusing fingers at. When one generation burns out on the second-coming message, there’s always a new flock to fleece every thirty years or so.  Like all these worthless Nostradamus books, there’s always a quick buck to be made in the Second Coming racket, and Brother Hal continues to rake in the shekels–

Revelation 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. The Judgement of God. Revelation 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast (Catholocism) and the false prophet (Islam) are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Matthew 7:12
